With Spring in the air, we can start to turn our attention to decluttering and organizing our space. Spring cleaning can feel so good! It can actually benefit our mental health by increasing our mood and positivity! While we may spend time focussed on our external spaces and places, it is also important to take note of how we are feeling internally. Why not take the time to spring clean and take stock of our mental health too!

Why might I benefit from counselling?

Here at Brock CHC we have counselling supports available for you with our Social Worker. We offer counselling for individuals with mild to moderate mental health issues. Many clients seek out supports for life transitions, coping with stressors or just wanting to work through individual barriers to living the life they want. Counselling can be helpful for developing new ways of coping and improving your outlook.  Our counselling supports are best suited to clients who are voluntary and willing to work towards specific goals within a short term model.

Do I have to be a patient of Brock CHC?

No! You do not have to be a rostered patient of the health centre. We do require you to be a resident of Brock Township and surrounding area if you are not a patient of the health centre.

How do I book an appointment?

You can call the Beaverton or Cannington site at 705.432.3322 and speak to our administrative team. They will ask you a few questions about your reasons for seeking support and book you in for an initial appointment. If you are a rostered patient at the clinic, you can also ask your healthcare provider for a referral.

Our Social Worker will then complete an initial appointment with you, either by phone or in person, to assess your needs and determine if counselling through the health centre is the most appropriate fit for your needs.
