Elder Abuse Networks across Ontario play an integral role, each and every day, when supporting victims and survivors of crimes, providing critical information and helping navigate resources (whether justice, social services or the healthcare system). They do this with compassion and in a meaningful way.
Elder Abuse Prevention Ontario (EAPO) is honoured to be part of that acknowledgement, to formally recognize the hard work and dedication of individuals and organizations of Elder Abuse Networks across Ontario.
This year, EAPO launched the “Recognition Award for the Prevention of Elder Abuse” to be presented to a member from each Elder Abuse Network in Ontario, who has demonstrated their dedication and leadership, supporting education and prevention initiatives by their Network and strengthening outreach efforts to enhance the response and assistance to older adults living at-risk or experiencing abuse.
On November 27, 2020 at the EAPO Virtual Award Event, Jennifer Josephson, Brock CHC Seniors and Community Health Worker and Chairperson of the Durham Elder Abuse Network (DEAN), was presented with this Recognition Award. Congratulations Jennifer, and thank you for your long-standing dedication and commitment to the prevention of elder abuse.
